The Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) was founded May 1, 1848 at Jefferson College In Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Since the creation of the fraternity we have grown to include 122 chapters and 20 colonies at the formost colleges and universities of the United States and Canada.

 

 

The Pi Chapter was founded at Allegheny College in 1860. There are over 500 graduate brothers of the Pi Chapter. FIJI was recolonized in the Fall of 2012 with 19 Founding Fathers. We strive for academic excellence and this is evident in being honored with the #1 GPA among all fraternities on campus. Brothers are found in multiple clubs, varsity sports, and activities on campus. Service is extremely important to the Pi Colony and the fraternity has strong relations with the American Red Cross and the United Services Organization (USO).

 

Brothers of Phi Gamma Delta at Allegheny College strive to foster gentleman of strong moral character and professionalism, who abide by high academic standards. Our goal is to provide a values based experience that results in lifelong friendship and loyalty to our brothers and our country. Our aim is to contribute to the Allegheny community in all aspects and being leaders while doing so.

 

Here at Allegheny, Phi Gamma Delta is a group of gentleman that are committed to their school, the community, and each other. We know that we can accomplish more together than we could individually.

 

Phi Kappa Psi

Phi Kappa Psi was founded at Jefferson College in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania on February 19, 1852. We have over 100 active chapters and colonies across the country. Currently, Phi Kappa Psi has more than 69,000 active alumni living in 50 states, and over 30 countries.

 

The Pennsylvania Beta chapter of Phi Kappa Psi was founded at Allegheny College in 1855, and has remained in good standing since that time. This makes Penn Beta the longest continusouly active Greek institution in the United States. Penn Beta strives for excellence in all areas of collegiate life, and continues to build its reputation as one of the finest fraternal chapters in the nation. Service is at the heart of Phi Kappa Psi, and to that end we maintain strong relationships with the Boys and Girls Club of Erie, the United Way, and many other philanthropic organizations in the greater Meadville community.  With nearly 2,000 initaites, Pennsylvania Beta is one of the largest chapters of any fraternity in the country.  Pennsylvania Beta will celebrate its 160th consecutive year in 2015. 

 

The Phi Kappa Psi fraternity is an association of men of integrity, who strive to develop the individual in his intellect, in his involvement in the community, and in his faith.

"Jefferson Duo" refers to the Phi Gamma Delta and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternities, both founded at Jefferson College in Canonsburg, PA in the mid 1800's.​
